Boat Shakes Real Bad In Reverse

Featured Replies

My dad has a runabout boat that he said when he puts it in reverse the boat shakes real bad. It just started doing this. He has a VA 350 engine to a mercuriser outdrive so it's a inboard outboard style like most boats. What could be causing this issue?

My little crawdad has a minn kota tiller on it. When we reverse it vibrates a lot. I've experienced this on boats with outboards and trolling motors. It's just the way the propeller interacts with the water. There's no damage to your motor as far as I know.

Sounds like a propeller issue to me.  Maybe a problem in the hub.  If possible, borrow a prop to see if the shaking issue goes away.

I agree, that's where I would start looking....

So what's the scoop?  Is it fixed?

One of my pet peeves is when someone asks for help, gets some responses and fails to follow through and let the rest of us know what happened.
