Diawa Revros And Diawa Laguna

Featured Replies

I am in the hunt for a spinning setup and after hours of research this looks like the best option for under 100 bucks. I am looking to see if anyone has any opinions/reviews on these products. Any help is much appreciated

I own a JDM Revros 2004 ( it´s not the year or something like that, it´s the model, 2000 size ) and it´s one of my most favorite spinning reels, it´s an excellent reel equivalent to the US Exceler. I don´t know about the new model, it must compete with the Sedona at that price point ( which is also a very good reel for the money, I have 2 ) but let me tell you, when it comes to spinning reels I prefer Daiwa over Shimano, they are a lot smoother, feel better and have a nice smooth drag.

I have a luguna 2500 reel mounted to a 661MXF Laguna rod. It's a nice little combo. It doesn't fish x fast, though. It's better suited for cranks/topwaters or wacky rigs with a circle hook. I'll sell you the combo spooled with 14 lb fireline crystal for $50 if you're interested.

it has only been used for maybe an hour total.

I'm planning on using it for top water and worm rigs. I am ordering the Revros reel and a Laguna rod. Run 8lb mono on it.
