These swimbaits are 7 1/2" long and about 2oz. and handmade from PVC. E-Tex is the topcoat.

Very nice, I wish I could do those, I really will try and tackle one of those over the winter!

I can't get over how much they look like cute little toys! I just want to play with them in my bathtub. I would buy those from you just to display in my garage. I like them a lot!

have you caught anything one them?

Thanks guys, your comments are appreciated.

BLee, you might want to take the hooks off before palying with them in the tub. Yes swimbaits will catch fish, same size bait as the others just a different color.

idlovtofish, do you sell any of the swim baits ,thanks ranger

Top-shelf stuff as usual!

Where did you get your material and what size? Is this the stuff from home depot? Do you just trace a template and cut it down then smooth it? If you dont mind post up a how to lol!

John those things are nice and you went to the e-tex darkside again.   You have really got the hang of the swim baits.

ToledoEF, I get the material at Lowe's, but a lot of other places carry it.

I do use a pattern to outline and then bandsaw out the blanks. After sawing the blank out I put a centerline completely around the blank, all holes for hook hangers and hardware are drilled while the blank is still square. After that the blank is sawn into three pieces, I then reconnect them temporarily and the carving and details are carved in.

Does that stuff carve easy like basswood or balsa? Also do you use a carving knife or just a sharp utility knife?

Hey BLee, I've had John's swimbaits for a season and a half, and since I fish mostly for smallies I haven't caught any bass with them. However, there were twelve Lake St. Clair muskies that fell to them. They're very nice baits. John makes fantastic crankbaits too.

Those look great! Can't wait to see them in person! Nice job.

Darn Muskys lol, I hate when I bass fish and they hit my stuff! They are notorious on the detroit river!
