I use jigs 95% of the time 3/8-1/2. I fish Missouri lakes. For the Abu Garcia Venetta 7' rod which is better for the jigs? Medium heavy or heavy? Thanks a bunch.

It doesn´t depend on where you fish but what you fish, I can go around and fish jigs with a ML rod in some places while on others I would´t go fishing jigs with anything less than a pool cue, cover ( type and density ) determines with what power rod you have to fish, so MH or H ---> none is better.

Abu Garcia rods run heavy, so I'd definitely recommend the MH!

Abu's MH rods are more like Heavys, 1/4-1oz rating. Medium Heavy is fine unless you want to fish slop.

Medium heavy,I like a little soft tip,They seem to hold it just a little longer.
