Baitcaster Squeaks When Reeling In Slowly

Featured Replies

Most squeekers are not gears. They are SURFACES rubbing on each other. Oil is too thin. or a spacer is gone. Or a failed bearing. Very rare. Does it doing in free spool ?  Stop with applied heavy drag setting ?  All help you find the noise. I had a cheap reel do a metal sound. Was excessive pressure from VERY TIGHT drag & tension spread the end of the line drum.  i NEVER had reduced the drag at end of day or the SEASON.  DUUUHH
