What Hawgtech handles should I get? 90mm, 94mm, or 102mm?

I was planning on getting the Winn grips for the jerkbait reel and maybe for the SX but I read you want flatter knobs for pulling bass out of cover.

does your reels have the bent handles ?? if they do , i would recomend you get the Lew's 95mm carbon fiber handles , the hawgtech handles are nice but the handle cap nut is cheesey looking and you can only use shimano knobs ...

I like the Winn grips best for constant reeling techniques like with crankbaits & lipless cranks. 

I haven't used the Winn grips but I do like the cork knobs they offer. I have 4 of the 102mm swept handles and I am looking to add the newer 90mm handle. I want the shorter handle for jerkbaits I think (purely personal preference) but only time will tell once I am able to fish with it. I currently use mine for just about everything.

Sort of personal preference. I had a 102mm and found it a bit long. It was solid for frogging though. The 94mm is my favorite length but the 90mm handles look a lot better. Any Hawgtech handles I purchase in the future will be the 90mm variety (unless something new comes out, like an 85 or 90mm swept). The cork knobs are really nice so I have not found a reason to try the Winn yet.

I would get the 102 for the frog rod. 90 for jerk baits because a long knob might make the quick jerks a little more uncomfortable. 90 for square bills also.

100mm does take some getting used to. I have one on my 6.3:1 cranking reel and I like it, especially for deep divers, but I prefer 80 for finesse and 90 for jigs/worms, etc.

 

100 is great for leverage, so using it around a lot of slop would be beneficial, especially with a high speed 8:1 type reel, but it does have the effect of gearing it down, like smaller diameter tires on a car.

A few Hawgtechs with anodized cast control caps and drag stars. Handles are the 102 mm swept designs.
