Need An Opinion

Featured Replies

Has anyone used/have the Powell Max 3-D seris spinning rods? If so, what is your opinion of them?  I am looking at the 713 MEF to throw to a max. of 1/2 oz. crank baits.

Rod is 7ft. 1in. long and is rated Medium Power 3 Extra Fast at Powell Web site

Opened your thread to give you an opinion.............on something.  :teeth:  Then I saw you were asking about the Powell Max 3-D rods.  Zero experience with them.  However, turns out I can offer an opinion anyway.  Normally Extra Fast actions are not considered a good bet for crankbaits.  You may want to consider another rod.  I've often used Medium power Fast action rods for crankbaits.  I did try a M-XF for topwaters.  Unfortunately I didn't catch any fish with it so don't know how well a fish would have stayed buttoned up on it.
