I go to this lake which is right near my camp where I fish from shore. I never seem to have much luck there, except in the spring.There was a cold front on friday, and I fished the lake saturday and sunday from sunrise til about 10 am.

The water surface temp was about 60-61 degrees on saturday, and about 59-60 degrees on sunday ( today.) The water was murky, about a foot of visibility. Sunny skies both days and I fished my spring spots.

I fished 0-10ft of water: t-rigged biospawn, craw- dragged and popped

various cranks : CRR5, DT6, squarebill, wakebait; steady, stop n go, twitched

spinnerbait- with fire tiger skirt, slow rolled and waked

I didn't have the luxury to fish the afternoon, but today before leaving, i saw 1 bass on the surface, and many bluegills near the surface underneath individual leaves that have fallen.

Which takes me to the next struggle. There is almost NO visible cover, there are cattails in 1-4 feet of water with a mud bottom. Almost the entire lake's shore is muddy. The best spot in the spring where they spawn is on the NE section in 1-3 feet of water and it is substrate at best.

What would you suggest I do? Was it too early in the day for fall time? Was this due to the cold front? I thought the front would've helped out in the fall.

When we had cold front come thru a couple weeks ago I switched to suspending jerkbaits and did well.
