Ned Rig - Rod Help

Featured Replies

I placed an order for everything to try out the Ned Rig. I got my reel in today. My finesse TRD's. The jig heads are on back order, but it shows I will get them soon. I ordered a TFO Gary Loomis Signature Series rod. 7 ft ML spin casting rod. It has no date off back order. It was $99, but I dont mind spending some more if there is another rod you guys would recommend that Cabelas actually has in stock. Any suggestions?

I love fishing a ned rig on a 6'9" mlxf avid. Might be more tha you want to spend but the rages are on sale and the new mojos have the sciii blank.

If you're looking around the $100 price range I would seriously consider the new mojo in 6'10" ML/XF, the Legend Tournament in the same specs is AWESOME for the ned rig and I'm sure the mojo would be more than suitable. I personally use a 7'1" ML/F Shimano Crucial for the Ned and I love it.

Those look great. The Avid is a little more than I want to spend. The Rages and Mojo Bass' look great, but they do not have them on Cabelas. (I have to order from Cabelas)

The new mojo just came out in September. Give it some time and Cabelas will get some in stock. BPS and TW have them right now so Cabelas shouldn't be far behind.

I throw the ned a bunch and on several different rods..The lews custom drop shot rod works really well and is in that price range.

I like the *** gen 2 7'1" M rod. extremely light the medium tip gives me a some play to tire the fish out. It's really sensitive, light and paired with a nice reel and some light line killer combo.

(only 100$).
