PVC Crankbaits

Featured Replies

Here are a few more PVC cranks. They are 2" long, shallow runners except for the last two minis which are thumbnail size.

that 2nd one with the fine scales and large scales is very awesome.

i'm sitting here trying to figure out the order you painted that one, but i just can't lol

i think i got it! you must have sprayed the black (or dark) basecolor, then laid down fine mesh and wide mesh right on top of it, then sprayed the whole thing in that yellowish green, then removed the large mesh sprayed over the sides in that blueish green. am i right?

Good Ones John... The top color is a good river color

I have painted several White, either Gray or Black Backs ...

GREAT Baits as always

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

Dave, your real close on how its done. Its painted black then the large mesh is sprayed white, then a coat of trans. blue, a second smaller mesh and a trans yellow until the light green appears, a smaller mesh and flo. green to highlight. The mesh is not used on top of each other but put on after the paint dries from the previous coat is heat set.

I don't know how you can still see after building those micro cranks. ;D

I like the second 2" shallow runner.

haha even this is hard to follow! it looks really cool though. maybe you could do a photo step by step of the process. reminds me of lizard or snake skin. ;D

Awesome!  I love your little baits!  Beautiful finish work as well.

Those look great John. Fascinating the way you do those mini's.
