Ultra-Deep crank prototype

Featured Replies

Here's an ultra-deep crank proto I'm working on.  I'm aiming for it to go to 25-30 feet when it's done.  It's 7 1/2" long and weighs 1 1/2 oz.  ;)  I'm thinking it will be a real beast to cast and retrieve.

Now I just have to find water that's deep enough...

That thing is HUGE!  ;)  I'm interested in how it will cast with such a large bill.

DA**! That is a monster. Better use a slightly lower gear ratio, like 1.1-1. lol

Woah.....I think you could fry an egg on that lip!   ;)

Well I just float-tested it in a bucket of water and it is, unfortunately, negatively buoyant.  Which means I'll have to find some way of making it float. :;)

I finally got it to float by removing one of the 1/4 oz. sinkers I planted in the nose (there were originally two).  Next step is painting and finishing.

That crank is a giant. Be sure to post up the finished bait
