Is there a good possibility or even an almost guarantee that if I flip enough of these I'll catch a bass? Or are the bass not in or around trees sometimes. I mean, they look so perfect for bass, but I don't have much experience flipping. There are literally hundreds of these in a nearby creek.

Yes. Throw a weedless football jig on heavy braid (50-60lb) and crawl it over downed trees. Go slow. Use rattles and a craw trailer.

These are absolutely great places that hold fish. If there is current and you are floating, it can be tough to fully cover the downed trees but it is worth the effort. Most of my bigger smallies come off the downed wood in a river.

Never met a lay down I didn't like or didn't try to fish.

If it is a bunch of laydowns one after another going down the bank then your chance of catching one decreases IMO. Now if there were just a few spread out all the way down the bank then I would think you could catch one off each tree. What I am trying to say is a bank with sparse cover will be easier to catch fish off of than a bank loaded with cover. Fish like stuff that is different so if there is one laydown on a 20 yard stretch of bank then you can bet theres a fish on it.

A jig is very good for this, but my favorite way to attack a laydown is to t/rig a plastic craw or creature style bait with a 1/8 pegged tungsten weight.

Fish the structure, not the cover.

definitely fish creek bends , inlets , shallow areas that are close to deep water , and look for current . i like to fish down stream of it and cast my bait so it flows with the current into some kind of structure where the bass will probably be located to ambush it !!!
