I use both 30min epoxy and solarez and like them both, but as far as the shine of a topcoat goes when the lure is in the water the solarez looks shinny as well
  2. Go to tackle underground they will explain it
  3. jig man has given you sound advice, all i wanted to add is that you can make molds out of plaster of paris(spray the mold with a sealer,or spray enamel to make your baits turn out smooth) or bondo. I decided to do exactly what you are comtemplating a few years ago and although i got quite a few usable baits out of my scrap it just wasnt something i enjoyed. Ill stick with pouring lead and carving but to each his own

The BPS locally only carries the s waver and some spro products along with kietech knock offs and the strike king version
  5. thanks for the feedback. i bought s ct and an exceller to try out.
  6. Having never used either reel I'm looking for your opinions on which you would choose based on your experience with them thanks
  7. If you are referring to a pt175 bass tracker then the pole should work. I've had one on mine for 2yrs and no problems with it holding the boat in place
  8. Don't forget a cheap Zara puppy small but effective and if you can find one get(the one) by paycheck baits. It looks funny but is a fish catching machine but I think it's been discontinued for some reason.
  9. Hard bait #5 shadrap, soft plastic zoom big critter craw Tex rig watermelon red
  10. Spazstix lacquer paint will get you a good chrome imitation but it's very temperamental to work with so I gave up and just started foiling my baits
  11. I use stainless shim stock in various thicknesses and it works pretty good
  12. I own multiple Saharas and they have all been smooth out of the box. They really are great reels better than any other $80 reel that I have tried
  13. Best $100 dollar reel imo would be a lews and it would be easy to learn with. The spinning rod for $100 or less would be a shimano clarus or one of the newer lews rods. I've got both and like both. I have the ned rig specific lews rod and like it a lot
  14. A local shop got some of these in and for the price I think they would make good squarebill chunkers or lipless cranks as well. Has anyone had a chance to fish one what's your thoughts?
  15. I looked at one tday at bps and the package said floating buzz bait or something like that. Wondering how well that's going to work decided at the register not to buy it
  16. I'm not sure what the banshee series is, but the red eye shad series is my personal favorite and I can't recall having this problem with them
  17. Looks like it would be fun for kids

Try submerging the lure in brakefluid and checking it often. The brake fluid works well on some lures others not so much. You will need to check to make sure the lure is not softening as well. Airbrush is the way to go for painting good luck Also make sure you clean the lure well with denatured alcohol after you have removed the paint and let all the solvents evaporate
  19. Wonder what Normans will be like since they were bought out. I know they have new packaging just hope everything else stays the same
  20. I bought a few to try out. Deep cranks, mid range, wake, and topwater and can honestly say that at this time I feel they are not worth the hype and do not plan on purchasing more

I really think this is ludicrous. This is just some politicians who got the biggest (contribution) from some organization like PETA or some other poorly informed or dilusional group. Such a shame that good clean pastimes such as fishing will be poisoned by the highest bidders and possibly taken away from our children altogether.
  22. I really like their flat side cranks when the waters cooler. They out catch my bombers and sk flat baits
  23. 200 series bandit (LA shad) sk 1.5 chartruese perch series 5xd (Tennessee shad) paycheck baits The one (bone ) #5 shadrap (silver and black) thats 5 but easily could have picked 5 different ones. I think the limit should be 15 but even at that some would have a hard time choosing
  24. Just wipe them down with a small amount of alcohol
  25. I'm also from the same area and have a couple ponds I hit up from time to time. The most productive baits for me are Yamamoto shad shaped worm fished on lite line weightless or split shot , small swimming fluke, regular fluke (not super) in green pumpkin, and rebel hoppers. I also fly fish them sometimes and catch a lot of bass along with bream on hopper imitations I tie
