Is there any difference between the original and the new X model besides the split grip?  I guess the price went up since the last time I looked at them too.  :cry4:

    I believe it's the same blank, just a cosmetic facelift. I own both and I believe the avid X feels lighter and more balanced in hand if you ask me. Highly recommended.

    The blank is the same, but the swap is supposed to help it feel lighter and more balanced in hand. I would be able to say for sure, since I was going to buy one this spring, but I ended up getting a steal on an LTB instead.
