Swimbait setup

Featured Replies

Just wondering what y'all used to fish swimbaits with. Looking to throw mattlures.

Thanks, Rand

I'm planning on buying the ultimate bluegill soon as well.  I've done some research and thus far believe I'm going to give the Okuma swimbait rods a try.  I like the mini pistol grip deal at the cap.  Will probably mate it with a higher capacity lo profile reel, as I don't like round reels so much.

Cool man. Noticed you are from Cent. FL. Where you fish at? I live in the Daytona area

Rand:  If you're throwing Matt's Baby Bass(and you should be ;)), then most any 6-7' Heavy stick will suffice.  The baits only weigh about 1.4 ozs. and don't need a 'special' rod or reel.

Good Luck with them.
