To All My Florida Anglers....

Featured Replies

Hey guys I'll be going down to boca raton. On the 17th this month. Looking to do some bass fishing I already will be going to okeechobee one day and the Everglades, but I will have a car and also no one to bother me lol. So I was wondering if there was any spots within a 2 hour drive of me that are good for shore fishing for largies? Looking to really get on a giant this year and am willing to even drive almost up to Orlando if be to catch a big one. Any help is appreciated

All the spillways in West Palm Beach have great potential for big Bass and big Snook. Concentrate on the ones where the water is flowing.

There's big Bass in these spillways especially the spillways that are more Freshwater than Saltwater.

You may want to try around the canals there in south florida (ex. C-14 canal)

There are some decent bass there and the opportunity to catch snakeheads and peacocks.

Do you have an adress for that canal like a specific area on the canal?

Unfortunately i don't have an exact address. However it is right in between Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale so it wouldn't be a long drive at all. There are multiple other canals around that area (and around Okeechobee) i just mentioned the C-14 canal because it was the first place where snakehead were introduced to the US. If you ask around you could probably get better directions considering how well known the canals are in that area.

Sorry i couldn't give you any better information. I live in the Daytona beach area and have never been that far south. Good Luck!

X2 what @LiftedSquare13 said. The C-14 is a great canal to fish for Largemouth Bass,Peacock Bass,Snakehead, and other exotic fish. You should do great if you choose to fish here.

Try fishing along Loxahatchee road for bass and snakeheads. Plenty of areas to park and easily walkable for a long stretch of the canal. From route 441 going west towards Loxahatchee wildlife area.
