Bass Pro Jon Boat Question

Featured Replies

I am in the market for a 12' or possibly 14' Jon boat for the summer next year. I was wondering if anyone knew if bass pro had trailers for these Jon boats. I have a bass pro store relatively near my house so that would be the the first place I look. Or if there would be a cheaper option trailer wise.

I think you can get trailers through Bass Pro, you also might want to look at Harbor Freight though too. If i remember right they have trailers for small boats (some assembly required) but that might be a money saving option.

Yes BPS has trailers, I have a 1542 that came on a load rite trailer that came from there. If your fishing two guys out of it I'd really consider a 15 footer, you'll find a 12 will be really tight with two guys.

I also have a 1542 I got from Bass Pro and it came on a Continental trailer. $2,200 put the door taxes amd everything without a motor. In all honestly, I'd go lightly used and put the money you saved towards a nicer motor or electronics. There isn't much to go wrong with a 240 pound hunk of tin lol. Lots of things to go wrong with an outboard.

Cabbalas has em too. You can find used ones online at sites like craigslist for dirt cheap. I have a 16ft aluminum which trailer needed some TLC after 30 years of use. I replaced the bunks. bunk carpet, jack, tires/rims/winch and think it cost me less than $400/500 bucks. So if you have a bit of time and are somewhat handy, you can find a good deal and make it your own.
