Strike King ZERO...any thoughts?

Featured Replies

I just bought a couple of bags of the Zero and was wondering if anybody can give me some feedback on these as far as comparability to maybe a senko or Kinami etc.

I do not want to start a Senko debate, personally beside trying these my tackle bag is full of senkos, but I had to try something different.  Ive had most success with the senko fishing it wacky style, the bass cant resist!

thanks

I was talking to Bob Richardson from "Outdoors In The Heartland". He told me hat they have become his go to bait for smallies. Especially the Bubblegum and white colors. He said there have been days where he caught 45-50 fish on one Zero.

Do you think they can have the same effect for LMB?  Here in south Texas we do not come across alot of smallies but their are some around.

I like them.  I think they have a lot of action and the sink rate is good.  I primarily bought them because of durability, but there is so much salt, they don't stay together very well despite the 3X.  They are more durable than a GYCB, but what isn't.  I still like the Senko better overall.

I love the Zero.  I'm one of the few people that couldn't get the hang of the senko.  I would hear the just add water comments and be like what the hell i'm horrible.  Continued to stick with the stick baits though b/c I didn't want to be the only moron.  Then finally one day caught five in a little under an hour at the toughest lake I fish.  First time using the Zero.  I like them b/c they are soft like the GYCB's and have heard they have more salt.  Personally, I think don't think the Tiki Sticks are soft enough.  I can't speak for the *** that are so popular on here b/c i've never used them.  I'm sure, however, that if I went back to the senko now I would do just fine.  I wasn't fishing them slow enough and was lifting my rod to much straight up.  I started having more sucess when I sweeped and twitched the bait.

I've used them as well.  I'm always looking for something cheaper than the Senkos for pond fishing.  Same success rate.

I did learn that they seem to melt sooner than other soft baits sitting in my truck!

Anytime this comes up I have the same comment and I'm sure a few others can agree. They are great for skipping. I'm not sure if it is the 3x material and the way they float or what but they are great. You can skip a zero alot farther than other senkos and you don't have to worry about it ripping off. Because of this it is a great bait to learn to skip or just practice with if your skipping isn't that great. Other than that I never spent much time with them.
