  1. Remixed. Much better now. Anyone else going to share? http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6659324
  2. Neat! Did you play that off beat or was it just mixed that way? That off time stuff really throws me most of the time.
  3. Here's a link to an original song I recorded on my new Digitech GNX4 guitar workstation. Does anyone else have any recorded music to share? http://www.digitech.com/soundcomm/guitar_view_music.asp?productid=199&music_id=3580
  4. The Yo-Zuri has been my fave for years but the XCalibur is coming on strong this year.
  5. Allow me to open a can of worms I am a long time musician and very picky about sound and I cannot tell the difference between premium (Monster) cables and any others. Get on Ebay and pick up your cable for a few bucks. As long as you choose the right cable for the application you will be fine.
  6. Yeah, I think it's worth trying.
  7. I have used both extensively. In my opinion, AN40 is much more supple, castable and has less memory. Yo-Zuri is much stronger, abrasion resistant, more sensitive and less stretch. I suppose if you compare the actual breaking strength of the two fairly (and not the stated # test), the Yo-zuri would possibly overtake the AN40 in all categories. For example, the YZ #6 breaks at 11.9 lbs. The AN40 #6 is probably closer to 8lbs which is equivalent to the YZ #4.
  8. You could spend $1000 on a crank and you won't be successful fishing it like this. This is your problem, not the amount you spend on your cranks. That being said, I believe that the high dollar cranks catch me a few extra fish, but who knows?
  9. Well, I went to the local music store yesterday and I purchased a Behringer V-Tone 112. I played it in the store and thought I liked it. When I got it home and really put it through its paces I decided that I actually hated it. So last night I went to Guitar Center and tried again. I bought a Line 6 Spider III 210. Awesome! Now my 11 year old son has a new amp (the Behringer) and a Les Paul Jr. I picked up at GC as well. So I supported the local economy and my son is ready to rock Everybody wins except my bank account ;D
  10. Yep. I've fished in weather like that and I suspect I'm not alone.
  11. What is the best modeling amp out there? Line 6, Fender, Roland, Behringer or others. I'm looking to spend $200-400. Suggestions?
  12. If you want to a girl to be your girlfriend and you have been "talking" to her for three months in preparation for that there are only three possibilities: 1) She ain't interested 2) You aren't approaching the situation correctly 3) Both
  13. Shimano Citica Loomis IMX So.....rod.
  14. Prepare for the most boring and geeky story so far. A few years ago I worked in a quality control lab where our job was to validate and confirm the cleaning of an industrial plant site that was converting from manufacturing cephalosporins (an antibiotic class including the brand names Keflex, Ceclor and Lorabid) to another product. Cephalosporins are severe allergens and the tiniest amount present in the new product could kill a sensitive individual so were were testing down to ppm levels.
  15. I'll trust your opinion on this. Well, IMO a Croix MH is equivalent to a Loomis H, so take from that what you will.
  16. If I were building a setup just for buzzbaits, I'd go with a 7' MH Fast, a 7:1 reel and 20-30 pound mono. I think heavy mono helps keep the bait up much better than braid, fluoro or any other small diameter line.
  17. This is Spinal Tap! OUR AMPS GO TO ELEVEN!

  20. YES! I am an unapologetic literary snob. I love to read but find anything written in the last 50 years to be nearly unbearable. Dostoevsky is absolutely brilliant. I suggest you begin with Crime and Punishment and if that tickles your fancy, try to tackle The Brothers Karamazov. Shakespeare is timeless, of course. For something more modern, I suggest Steinbeck (Grapes of Wrath or especially Of Mice and Men). The absolute masterpiece of the last century has to be Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. He manages to make one appreciate and sympathize with the main character who is a pedophile. That is no small feat. If anyone wants some suggestions from any specific genre, just ask!
  21. I too was a bit disappointed with the stiffness of Hybrid US when I first tried it, but then I realized that, because of its incredible strength/diameter I was actually using 11.9 lb line with a 6 lb diameter. When you compare it to 12 lb mono, it stacks up very favorably. I am not certain that the US has the same break strength as regular Hybrid (Yo-Zuri has only published info for regular), but I know it is much stronger than 6 lb.
  22. A similar thing happened to me several years ago. The station was open and the pump price said $2.00 or whatever, but when I calculated the actual price charged based on the number of gallons, it was something like $0.75 per gallon. I went inside and paid and told the owner who said I must be mistaken. I continued to get cheap gas for several days thereafter. I TOLD HIM and he didn't listen so he deserved it.

Beowulf is one of my favorite stories ever, but that does not necessarily a great movie make. If any of you have seen the 1999 version starring Christopher Lambert you know what I mean. I am looking forward to the new version though.
  24. OK. Now we can all see where you're coming from. You're absolutely right. As an insider in the industry, I am privy to countless internal memos noting the cure for these diseases and the fact that we are to suppress them at all costs : Free tin-foil hats for everyone!
