Bassmaster.com Fantasy Fishing
Well, for a while I thought I had a chance to pull off the win. As it is now, I'm in 41st place in the world and 465 points back with two tourneys to go. The leader has virtually the same lineup as me, so I'm going to have to drop some of my good guys and take a chance that some of the less expensive guys will come through. Any suggestions for the next two tourneys? My lineup currently has KVD, Skeet, Roumbanis, Remitz and Lintner. Most of the guys ahead of me have this lineup or something very similar (Kennedy and Duckett are the other favorites). So, help a BR brother out. Who should I drop and who should I add?

Need Help Driving A Stickshift... UPDATE!
When I was teaching my wife how to drive a stick (Muddy would have had something to say here, I'm sure ), she got stuck trying to start on an incline. She started freaking out and yelling for me to help her. I got out and started walking home. About five minutes later she actually stopped and picked me up! She was able to do it from then on.

Got my week old shimano stolen :(
Wow. That's very poignant, yet seriously depressing :'(

Help on another Pool question?
Sounds like it could be something wrong with the filter valve? I don't know what, but if it works everywhere but the filter setting, it could be restricted in there (obstruction, broken flap, etc.).

Anything I should know before sanding a grip?
I use 30 grit and a belt sander if I'm in a hurry. Or you could go slow

Gettin hung with a rattletrap
I seem to have better luck in timber with the wider bodied rattle baits such as XPS, Strike King Redeye Shad, XCalibur, etc.

Baitcast vs. Spinning
Oh. Actually, with all the times I've seen fisherman whom I respect (including yourself and Fish Chris, among others) recently advocating a big splash, I may be pitching less and less in the near future 8-) That sucks. I've wasted all this time working on roll casting and pitching to minimize surface disturbance and it might be all for naught.

Browning? What? HUH????
Hey Can you tell your source of reference for this statement. I have found that not to be true of Pflueger, I am curious where you got that from and if it can be documented. I may h ave the wrong info myself, that is why I am asking; Thanks I heard that exact same thing from a Shimano rep OK, not really

Baitcast vs. Spinning
Actually, I pitch with my spinning reels about half the time. Once you agree that feathering a spinning reel is possible, how can you not see that pitching is feasible? Are you speaking of pitching into heavy cover?

So my 8 Foot Steez rod came in today

Past Post Problem, Is it me???
Or, maybe not It's been quite a while now.

Why All the Revo Love?
No, I haven't. I was just curious. I've yet to feel the need to stray from Shimano. I have used some round Abus and I've been satisfied with them.

Past Post Problem, Is it me???
Me too. BTW, if you edit your title and describe the problem, you might get a better response.

flat cranks and jerk bait

Night fishing and things that go bump in the night
Any roads nearby? With hills? This same thing happened to me and a friend several times one night 15-20 years ago while night fishing. We were getting pretty creeped out when I realized that it was headlights cresting a hill. As the cars approached the hill (and driving towards our position), the glow from the headlights would slowly become visible on the horizon. As the cars began to climb the hill, the light beams shot straight up to the sky. As the cars crested the hill, the lights would veer off suddenly and disappear as they began to point down. Sound familiar?

another rod question
6'6" Medium power moderate action - crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwater (any longer and the proper rod tip down technique is difficult unless you're really tall) 7'0" MHF or XF - jigs, t-rigs, weightless (extra length and power for solid hooksets) 6'6" MHF or XF - spinners and buzzbaits (shorter length allows accurate casting to targets and under overhangs, etc.) If I bought a 4th, I would go 7'0" or 7'6" MHM or MM for cranks instead of the first rod. (longer rods allow really long casts necessary for deep divers)

Spoiling for a fight
To my recollection, you have never offended me. Hey, that offends me!

flat cranks and jerk bait
Yes, it does. Neutral buoyancy is achieved by matching the density of the bait to the density of the water. If the density of the bait is lower than that of the water, the bait will float. If the density of the bait is greater than that of the water, the bait will sink. The density of the bait is essentially fixed so the bait's buoyancy depends almost entirely on the temperature of the water. Water density is inversely proportional to water temperature (down to approximately 4 degrees Celcius where it reverses temporarily until freezing occurs at which point the relationship resumes). Colder water = greater water density and thus, lower relative bait density which results in floating. I'm not arguing with you here, this is simply a fact and to say otherwise is refuting the laws of physics.

I see a great business opportunity here. You need to start selling rope!

Whats the "Kissing" sound under the slop?
I guess I don't have to tell you that 10 lb line doesn't cut it with frogs in heavy slop. In a pinch, I'll use 20 lb + mono, but this is one situation where 50 + braid is unquestionably superior.

Why All the Revo Love?
I'm curious. What makes the Revos so much more popular than the previous generation of Abu LPs? Is it marketing, the fact that they look "sexier", or are they really that much functionally superior?
