Quick Touch Up For Cranks and Jigs

Anyone ever use fingernail polish for a quick touch up job? I have heard this from several people and I was wondering if it really worked or not.

I've used it in a pinch. Fingernail polish is (or used to be) lacquer. It will seal small chips and cracks effectively. It's also pretty brittle and will chip if you bang the lure against rocks and such, but on the small areas you'll be using it on, that's not much of an issue.

I've raided my wife's nail polish many times for touch-up work. It's a good temporary fix.

Ive used it but it wears off fairly quick, I like car touch up paint its really durable.
