So theres a river by my house that im having a hard time finding the bass. Ive caught a 2lb largemouth on the rightside of the bridge and a 2lb smallie on the left side early this year. I was wondering what u guys would throw where?

I have a local creek quite similar to this. I mostly throw wacky rigged stick baits of any variety. Mostly in browns and greens. I like smaller plastics a lot in this type of situation, and a good scent always gives me a little more confidence with these presentations.

This time of year, I'd be looking for any current breaks and/or any deeper holes.

Shad rap, small blade bait if the water is deep enough (You only need 5-6FOW for a 3/16oz blade), and if you have an area you are pretty sure holds fish, drag a tiny texas rigged finesse worm very slowly, move it 6-12" at a time and pause for at least 5-10 seconds.

This time of year, most bass are looking for bigger meals. I'd slowly work a 1/4 oz football jig with a fat craw trailer or something like that through the deepest crease you can find.

 

Look for outside bends in the tail of rapids. This is a classic ambush spot and often big bass will blow something up if you cast upriver and work it back to these spots.

 

Spoons and blade baits will likely produce the most fish.
