California Tournament Trail

Featured Replies

My son and I are in the process of learning more about the CTT. We live in southern Oregon and want to learn new lakes from those who fish them the best, and like the format of CTT. So I am looking into finding a pro to sign up with to get a spot, I do not want to drive 6hrs to learn I have no seat, so if anyone can give me any advise on this.

Give Bill Cook a call. His number should be on the CTT website. Dobbins is running his own circuit this year that is a similar format. So I am sure that's what he will promote.

What do you want to know. You sign up and you will be told wether you are in or not the week of the tournament.

get in to the first tournament and then befriend your boater and voila you can get guaranteed status into them all.

I for one do not like the format as it only benefits the boater. as a co in shared weight you can catch 5 fish every time you go out and your boater can catch nada lets say but since he's not on the fish your bringing in dinks to the scale. now thats a lot of work for what wont cut you a check but probably would have in a reg format or at least would have gotten you points to contend for AOY. Now lets say the co-angler in first doesn't catch a single fish but he gets first place because his boater caught 5 monsters. well now your gonna feel kinda ticked. the pay out is separate so on the co side you do not have to put in any effort and you can still cash out.  If your just looking to get out and are not concerned with loosing money then by all means sign up. If it were me I would sign up for the Wild West Bass Trail.
