Starting to think about putting a resume together and seeing what happens. What are some key points that sponsors would look for?

Posted

How can you help sell products?

Have you had success working with other manufacturers? References?

Do you have a working relationship with a tackle shop in your area?

Do you attend industry shows, seminars, store events, etc?

One major thing to consider that I think is overlooked by a lot of people applying for staff positions- you are one of many. How will you set yourself apart from the other emails or phone calls that company will receive this week? It's easy to get lost when your email is just a short introduction, a list of local tournament finishes, and "I like your products a lot and think they are the best on the market" thrown in at the end.

I get a lot of emails requesting sponsorship and to be honest, most of them are lacking. It's a lot like applying for a job when you think about it and you'd be doing yourself a favor by approaching it as such. The link that Glenn posted has a lot of good information!
