How To Brew My Own Soft Plastics

Featured Replies

I can find molds online for rather cheap and plus my dad can make em from metal from machining but what i need to know is how to melt old torn up soft plastics to make new ones. Can i melt different plastics to make one pot of melted plastic to pour? Do i need a one piece mold to make like a grub or do i need a 2 piece mold to make like a senko worm? if i need a 2 piece mold how do i pour and then close it? basickly Im thinking of making my own softplastics ;)

I'm learning how to pour my own plastics...go to tackleunderground they have alot of info there..also lure craft was helpful too.

Lurecraft, Bears Baits and Del Mart Molds are all very helpful sites/people. I have been throwing around making my own soft plastics for years, but never want to spend the money.

If I were you, id just buy the plastic compound and not re-melt plastics. You can do that, but if you read on tackle underground, it can get hairy and toxic. You can heat up the compound in the microwave even so no need to mess with the stove.
