Making a one piece rod into a two piece...

Featured Replies

Can this be done? If so how big of a project is it? Any info on this would be excellent, thanks guys!

I haven't heard of anyone doing this and doubt it could be done at reasonable cost with reasonable results.  If you want a 2 piece, get a 2 piece blank - it will probably be a lot cheaper and better.

And, why destroy a good rod?

Suggest investing in a two piece rod.

Remember, the blank is manufactured to perform as a one piece rod so if you break it in half you will be destroying the backbone and its strength.

Good question and thanks for asking for our input.  ;)

It can be done.  With good results.  You would have to used purchased ferules.  And, any modification would void any manufactures warranty on the original blank.

I myself won't do it and won't do it for customers.  There are just to many other blank options out there that should fit the bill.
