What would you use these rod/reels for?

Featured Replies

I picked up a 7'6" Dobyns Champion Extreme ML spinning rod that I'm gonna pair with a CI4. The 2nd combo is a 7'7" Daiwa Zillion medium  action casting rod with a Daiwa Tataula 6.3 to 1. I have ideas of what I think I should use it for what would you do?

Okay nobody played along so let me tell you. The 7'6" medium light spinning rod I was going to give the NED rig a shot and also a drop shot rod. The 7'7" medium action casting rod  I was gonna to try as my Keitech swimbait rod.  Any thoughts about these choices?

I think the choices of use you made are fine. I use a 7ft m/l for nedrig, and does great.  Id think your Diawa would be a good rod for the Swing Impact. But they are all i use, cant say much about the Fat Impact.

Sounds like you've got things covered.

Is that the Medium Regular Zillion rod? Might be a little soft for Keitechs if you're not fishing exposed hooks. The DX (762?) is probably good for Ned but would be long for drop shotting in my preference. Too much grass in my area to throw Neds but probably be good on St Clair. I'd throw a 3" Senko on that rod so that's sort of the same thing.

Yes regular Zillion. The hook will be exposed. Will that work?
