I cut my chops jig fishing with spinning gear and super micro finesse jigs. With spinning gear a light wire hook and appropriately set drag are a must. I think I was using a 1/16th oz . jig mostly. Now a days all I fish are 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 oz on casting gear with at LEAST 12 lb test.
