Mossy/muddy water

Featured Replies

Hey guys I have a lake by my house that has big bass in it. The only problem is that the bottom is completely covered with moss and weeds and the water is very dirty. I've had some success with a 7' worm on a Texas rig, but I'm sure you guys can come up with some better bait ideas for me to pull out the 5+ pound monsters I've seen in the lake. Here is a picture attached of the lake. The water isn't this clear throughout the lake though.

it's difficult to tell how dense the weeds are throughout the water column in that picture, but i'd suggest a chatterbait.

You'll cover more water, have some solid vibration for the bass to key in on with the murky water, and a nice baitfish profile that you can customize with your trailer. If the weeds are too dense, you'll have to go another route. Maybe a weedless plastic fluke to pop through the weeds in a bright color.

Have you tried a bone colored tiny pop-r? Early morning might bring some action.
