I have a question about my BM3. I was trying to open the side plate but I can't. This reel does not come with the old screw to loosen the side plate. This reel has a spring resistant rod instead. Do I pull that rod back and slide up or down? take out the rod completely?  I did not want to break anything so help??? 

I have the curado I and that is easy to open with the bottom button.

    Slide the bar over to right then twist side plate up.

    They are usually tough to open the first couple trys
