Fury vs. Savvy?

Featured Replies

Hey guys I'm looking to get either the Dobyns Fury or Savvy 734C (or both eventually) for Florida grass fishing swim jigs and skinny dippers. Which one do y'all think is better for the money?? I know the Fury is great for the price, but would the Savvy be worth the extra $70?

I haven't picked up a Savvy but the reviews I read said it wasn't worth the extra money. Go Fury.

in my hands the fury feels better.  ive read some say its even a little more sensitive. id definitely go with the fury

Get the Fury then next time around when you have the money get the Champion. I hear that rod is awesome.

The Extreme and Champion have both been redone this year with better components. The Fury was just recently released so I would consider that rod pretty up to date as well. While the Savvy rods are nice they are the only Dobyns rod that hasn't been re-done recently.

Swimjigs and Dippers aren't techniques requiring high levels of feel at least to me. I think in this case you could probably be satisfied with the Fury line of rods.

I think the savvy does a better job than the fury, but it's also a lot lighter. The champion is miles ahead of the savvy though.
