Beautiful baits!!

Nice looking cranks! I like cedar bodies, I know some people split them, but I haven't had any issues yet :)

These are WAY cool!!   Tight action?

Thanks!

String, the proto had a tight action when I tested it, but the 3d angry eyes may change the action, possibly quite a bit.  I put some on a rattlin' rapala once, and they just ruined the action, but I think this bait is large enough to counteract most of the effects of the eyes.

Those scales are just awesome!

Nice paint jobs. Those eyes on the 1st one sure look mean. 8-)

Those things should be put on display in an art gallery they look so good..........I might even go to an art gallery if stuff like that was on display.

really beautiful baits... I would hate to throw one! I'd have to swim for it if I got snagged!

The clear coat I use is no secret: Trondak U-40 LS Supreme High Build. Now, however, I'm switching to the medium-build version. The high-build is a little too thick for some of the baits I do, and also I think the slightly thinner version will be easier to mix bubble-free.

I did some testing, and the 3d eyes don't affect the action on these baits. They all have a nice, tight action and they float quickly when paused.

Thanks all you guys. 8-)

BTW I caught a 10" crappie on the Mad Purple Craw version I did of this bait. Not what I was expecting, but I'll take it. :)

I get it from Mudhole.com.  It's pretty cheap in the bigger sizes; you can get 32 ounces for $45 and that will last for a long time.

I've found it necessary to use U-40 Color Lock before top-coating with U-40 LS Supreme medium build.  You will get fish eyes with LS Supreme medium build unless you use Color Lock first.  I found that out the hard way... :-X

The only other downside to using LS Supreme is that it takes 24 hours to dry tack-free, and up to a week to fully cure.  It cures faster at warmer temperatures, but it still takes five days to reach full strength.
