I'm at my local Walmart and on clearance they have the Shimano Sonora 2500 for $25.00 and the Mitchell Avocet RZ 2000 for $15.00 is this crazy cheap or about average. I haven't bought either or looked at recent prices on spinning reels. They each show $49.96 and $29.96 respectively as normal. 

Well I just saw this thread now that I am home.  For me it is a PITA to use a phone for internet. Thought I might get a quick few responses before I left Walmart. Anyway I gambled and picked up one of each.  

The Sonora is a fairly good deal, the Avocet is pretty common at that price in Walmart I believe.

Thanks I have searched around a little now and yeah that Sonora was a decent price I recon. The Avocet for $15 I figured was a no lose situation. If it's junk at that price worst case I lost lunch one day. 

I work with a guy that has an avocet, says he likes it. They feel decent in hand, for 15 bucks I probably would have picked one up too.
