Denali Jadewood J2 Spinning Rod

Featured Replies

I'm looking at this spinning rod, don't have any experience with them but have read some reviews saying they are a really good rod. I'm looking at the 7ft. MH/F...they call it a shakey head rod, does that mean it is made specifically for that style fishing or can it fish a variety of baits well? I mostly fish crankbaits, senkos, crawfish, buzzbaits, topwater, frogs and some small swimbaits. This rod would also be doing double duty for both bass AND trout...is the MH the best choice or would the M be a more versatile option? I can get this rod at ***.com for $76 on sale and think that is probably a pretty good deal. I also thought someone mentioned that they have a lifetime warranty which would be great too!

I've got that rod and it is a great shakey head rod. I liked it so much I sold my Loomis shaky head rod and replaced it with this. It is labeled as a moderate fast, so I imagine it would work with a variety of baits if you wanted to multi-purpose. I could easily see it handling several of the techniques/bait you list. That said, I'd say it is likely too heavy for trout, unless your trout run larger than your bass. The problem is that depending upon the actual rod you were to go with, medium power rods might not handle some of the bass gear you'd like to throw with it. It would definitely be a trade-off between the two options, likely on both ends. I would think it might be best to grab this deal and then wait for another deal on a ML or L action rod for trout.

That rod can handle all your applications. I use It as my go to shakey rod But have also used it wacky rigging, trigger. This rod is better than its price point and for 25% I'd buy a handleful of them.
