weedguard protector for powder painting?

I use a drill and bit to clean out the holes after I bake the paint on.  That is all that has worked well for me and it costs nothing.

I pour without the weedguard, plug the hole with a short piece of 1/8 round dowell round. Heat, dip, pull out dowell, before setting up and hole is clean and ready to go for baking then gluing. Am still on 5 first fives sticks from local hardware at .18 cents each. Just cut up in 1 o 2 inch pieces with razor knife.

I've painted at least 2000 pieces with just those 5.

If you pour your jigs with the pin in instead of pouring with the weed guard, it's a very easy thing to powder paint with the same pin in to keep the hole clear, cure in the oven, and then glue the weed guard in after curing.

I've tried many other ways to skin that cat, and always came back to that. It's much easier than messing around with tubing and still trying to keep paint out of the weed guard.

I need to make a video of this.
