I just recently purchased 4 new abu garcia reels 3 was the stx revo3 and 1 was the rocket revo 9.0:1 ratio. I noticed when casting them the line guide was not traveling left to right when the line was coming off the spool is that common ? Im use to the round baitcasters like the 6500 series reels the line guide travels with the line when it comes off the spool.  

Yes, the round Abus do that where our Rocket reels do not. 

Ok thanks WdyCrankbait I was getting upset thinking that my reels was defective.

yeah, I did the same thing as well.  I have an old 5500 C3 I use every once and awhile and then when I got my Rocket, yeah, noticed that as well.

I am sure @Delaware Valley Tackle can explain it more. 

Low profile reels cast better in great part due to the disengaging levelwind. Turning the extra parts saps energy from the cast.
