I order 2 molds a football and arky jig and they both use the FG-30 weedguards but i wasn't sure which one to get.  It appears there are 3 different FG-30 weedguards.  I was wondering what everyone else is using.  Looks like there are 31, 24, and 20 strand guards.  Any help would be great.

Pay more attention to the diameter of the fibers instead of the fiber count. That determines the stiffness of the weedguard. Of those you listed, the 31 is probably the finest, and the 20 count being the stiffest. Just pick the one that suits your application. Heavy brush--heavy guard, football deep---light to medium guard....

X2 on what Skeeterman said. Also with the 30+ strand guard, I spilt them in half and get 2 jigs done with one guard. Normally a full guard is too stiff and half works very well.

Skeeterman is right on the money. I use the 31 count and split mine in half as well. I do not like a stiff weedguard in most situations. Since I sell jigs, I can add and delete fibers as needed to satisfy the customers needs. It works really well this way.
