Vibe skipjack 90

Featured Replies

I've been looking at the vibe skipjack 90. I have no experience kayaking whatsoever, but at 9 feet is it big enough for most people?

i've had a 10 and now have a 13.5 foot kayak.  honestly, i'd rather one in the middle at like 11.5 or 12.

and i'm 6' tall and 210 lbs for what it's worth...

Depends on what type of water you are fishing. Ive used a little ten foot boat on local ponds, but being 6 ft, 220 with a serious addiction to tackle, I prefer a larger boat. Even more so if you are fishing big lakes, or ocean...

Welcome to the addiction!

I fish a 150 or so acre lake and only really need 5 360 boxes and 3-3 rods

9 foot kayaks are not going to track well so if you paddle longer distances you will not enjoy the boat.  As stated above 11-12 feet seems to be the sweet spot for all around use but i wouldn't trade my 14' boat for flatwater.

I just did a quick look at the boat and it looks like it is designed more for moving water, meaning it is very maneuverable.  That same maneuverability sometimes doesn't make it good for lake fishing.  I used to have a coosa that i loved for rivers and i used it for flatwater for a season but i then got a lake oriented boat and was much happier.

All that being said, if it gets you on the water you will be happier than on the bank for sure :)

I'm 5'8 100 pounds right now, but in the next few wears that will change. Will I have enough space in a 9 foot yak?
