I want a good heavy jig rod that can be heavy enough for pitching and flipping, but nothing rated over 2oz. What are people's thoughts on this rod? I hear the extreme is the best sensitivity, but wont fork out that much money. So, how is the sensitivity/bottom contact feel for this rod? Better choices for the price?

735 is a very good rod for pitching and flipping, with that being said I probably wouldn't recommend it up to 2 oz jigs. I would say up to 1 oz is definitely in it's wheelhouse. Anything heavier than that I would look into am 805 flip punch or a 736. I also love my 735 for frogs and Carolina rigging.

How do you rate the sensitivity? I had the Savvy 704 and thought the sensitivity was terrible... 

Heavy jig I would got 765flip dobyns. I haven't used it enough to give it the 100% seal of approval but I did have it in some grass/weeds and it handled it perfectly. I could tell the difference between the give of the grass and the rigidity of a rock.   On the other hand the 735c is my go to rod. Everything from light t-rigs to chatterbaits and 3/4 jigs. I even punched with it a bit to try and feel it out. Once you get into the real heavy summer grass you're going to want a heavier rod. I'll give my tentative nod to the 765flip though. It casts jigs very well and the feel is well worth the cost.

The savvy is good for reaction baits, champion and up for bottom contact/sensitivity

I don't have any Savvys but your comment seems to echo the consensus opinion.

I've got a half-dozen or so Champions and I've heard others comment that they feel the Champions aren't very sensitive at their pricepoint.  Honestly, I've never felt them lacking in sensitivity so I think you'll be more than fine.  My 735 so far has only been used for chucking paddletails, but I think it'll get heavier jig duty this year too.

You'll have no problems with sensitivity pitching with that 735

If you're going over an ounce I would recommend the Lamiglas Pro-X 735c. It has a good tip for flipping and a lot of power. It's an extremely good top water rod also.
