Cold Fronts

Featured Replies

You can catch them right after a cold front, they just move a little deeper and group up.  Although the bass do get lethargic, if you slow down and find them you can catch quite a few.  As far as when the bass return to normal is hard to guess, it depends on a lot of things, but it usually takes somewhere between two days and five days.

Everyone gets there pants in a bundle about fronts! If you know how to fish after a front you can do well! I had some darn good days after a front. Like the post before me said SLOW down and move a bit deeper. They will get tight to cover and tend to not school as heavy. For me the wind is the big factor! If she is blowing it can be hard to fish and have boat control. If if warms up fast after a front then they will get active that much sooner. But if the front drops air temp 30 degrees and a slow warm up,then I would say 3 days at the worst for them to move back to where they were before the front. Now spring can be a whole new ball game  ( pre-spawn )

PS- Down size your baits too!
