I own a couple of Calcutta 200 d series reels. I love them.  I know they are not designed to be finesse reels but I'd like to improve its casting range with 1/4 ounce lures. It does great at 3/8 ounce and up. What upgrades can I make to this reel that would help increase the casting range with 1/4 ounce lures and under. I was thinking about replacing the spool bushing with quality bearing and maybe a super tune. Is there anything else I can do to free up the spool a bit? Aftermarket spool, bearings etc? Thanks for any input. 

You're on the right track with super tuning and spool bearing. Since you need to add a bearing you may as well make it a good one . ABEC5 ceramic hybrid. Flush and test the others. If you want more after that look for a shallow wiffle spool. That's about all there is. Let me know if you need help with any of this. 

Thank you. I'll research and see if an aftermarket spool is available for this reel. It is rather narrow compared to the b series. I might send  one your way and see how it turns out.
