Looking for a wadable SM spot in Southeast PA

Hi,

I am going to be heading up to SE/Central PA to pick up a rod I had made and would like to make a overnight trip of it.  I am looking for suggestions on a place where I can do some wade fishing for SM.  I don't know the area at all other then "somewhere on the Susquehanna river", but I would love some advice on a good wadeable spot to access it.  I will likely be going next weekend and making a two day trip of it.  Thanks.

Certain spots in the skuylkill river holds smallmouth. Long river, goes from above through berks county down to philly. I've caught smallies in the lower tulpehocken right below the blue marsh spillway. Wading? I don't know.

I plan on asking the rod maker, but he is on vacation right now and I don't want to bug him.

When I went with the guide a couple weeks ago on the Susquehanna, we launched from Riverfront Campground in Duncannon (just north of Harrisburg).  It looked like the area would be OK for wading, but I didn't really investigate it much.  It's right where the Susquehanna meets the Juniata.

There are a lot of areas that are wadable in the harrisburg area on the susky.  Just find a boat launch (there are a ton) and check them out.

I would also recommend checking out the Juniata River, if you are able to go that far into Central PA. The area up around Huntingdon below Raystown is my favorite, but there is also good fishing on the lower portion from Lewistown down towards the Susquehanna inflow. Plenty of places to wade, and I've had triple digit fish days.

Also, on the Susquehanna, there is a boat launch in Marysville that my father and I used to wet wade at, and do really well.

The Juniata looks like just what I am looking for.  Can you recommend and access point in the southern Lewistown section?

There is a map of the access points, along with some more information about the area. Also, there are some pull off areas along 322 where you can park and walk in down the bank.
