Portable fish finder

Featured Replies

I fish many small (50 -500 acre) lakes from a canoe.  I am looking for a portable fish finder that also reads water temperature and is reasonably priced.  Does anyone have any experience with the Eagle Cuda 128 portable?  Know of any others that would fit the bill?

Will,

I have used one.  I friend had one in Canada last year.  The electronics worked well but the bracket was poorly made and actually cracked on the first use.  The Eagle has a suction cup mounted transducer and doesn't mount to the boat gunwale like the Bottom line does.  That's why I was leaning toward the Eagle.

I have a portable Eagle that I put on my 2 man bass boat when fishing small water.  Bought it about 4 years ago.  It has been great.  No complaints, except mine doesn't have temp.

Thanks KU

The model I have been researching includes th temperature.

I use a Garmin 100 on my canoe and it works good. Comes with temp, so that might be an option...only thing is I haven't seen many 100's around anymore...don't know if it is out of production or what. But my 2 cents.

Orabbit, did you ever buy one.  I fish a kayak and a boat and I am looking at the EagleFishEasy 240.  It,s $150 at fishfinder-store.com.  Is anyone familier with them or the 240?  One concern I have is the 8 D Cell batteries and the size of the case.  I may have to call for the exact size. 8)
