I'll be near Clear Lake in a few weeks and would love to spend a day fishing.

Does anybody have any experience renting a bass boat there?

Are the boats decent?

Can you get them early in the morning?

With limited time and horsepower, is there good fishing near where you pick the boat up?

Yeah you can rent a bass boat. It comes with a guide. Should cost you about $350+ 

 

If the lake is calm you can probably rent a small aluminum boat but that'll cost you likely over a hundred because after all it is Clear Lake.. 

 

Good luck. Clear Lake is not an easy lake to fish. If it were me I would go fish Berryessa or better yet head over to the Bay Area and fish one of the small reservoirs where you can rent a boat for $35 and catch bass all day long on a good day and if the water is clear watch all the 10+ bank cruisers swim by and get ticked they wont eat any of your lures because you frogot a swimbait. You'll need a trollingg motor. Or you could just get a kayak. Or go back to step one. Hire a guide, skip Clear Lake however and hit up the Delta.. It's more fun.
