ASCEND FS128T - new fishing vessel

Featured Replies

Just purchased an Ascend FS128T kayak.  This kayak replaces the jon boat I had for a number of years.  Jon bot was getting to be a bit much hauling around myself.  So decided to try the yak.

On my model of YAK, it comes with the two side rails for mounting accessories. (rod holder, go pro, gps, etc).

Where can I find the accessories that slide on to this rail, for fairly inexpensive prices?  I can't imagine it will be cheap per item, but my fingers are crossed.

Is brand name crucial for something like this?  If not, 3rd party works for me.

Check out some of the yak stores online like
austinkayak.com, paddleva.com, and yakattack.us.

Personally, I prefer to DIY stuff, but for side rails,
see what BPS recommends for, or what is compatible
with your FS128T...

I think Scotty is compatible with the Ascend line, but I think any will work. I don't think it's as brand specific as Feelfree's tracks.

Congrats on the new Yak. I have the Ascend 12T. Accessories can be expensive but Austinkayak.com gives you a  one time 15% off coupon if you sign up for their emails and if you spend enough they offer free shipping.

Have fun and get out on the water and you can see how you want to customize the boat to your needs. The biggest thing is to not over think it and it doesn't have to have 1000$ in accessories to function. Believe me its easy to get caught up in that game.

I've seen videos of people modifying their yaks. I have no desire to go that far, but I also said the same thing before I  modfied my jon boat.

I know my mind will change once I get out on the water. But I do like the rail that could adapt to the rod holder.

I have seen the balls that go in the rail, they range from 1" to 1.5". Is there not a cross reference number that I can use so I know what parts I need to buy to fit in the rails?  I have seen RAM, Scotty, and a few other brands. I have no clue which one I need for this model of yak.

Can anyone tell me if this fits the rail system that is on that yak?

If you're on FB, I suggest the Ascend owners group. Congrats!

And, no, as is, that rod holder will not fit on your rack, but they do make rail adapters.
