Collins Marsh water fowl preserve over looked or bullhead haven

Featured Replies

I am only 13 years old and do a water shed camp for the manitwoc river every summer and last year we went to Collins marsh water fowl preserve and one of the  leads has a permit to us a seine net  at the end of the day the total count for fish was

500  BG,pumpkin seeds, and BGPS hybrids

500- yellow perch

150-baby common carp

400- bullheads

and the real kicker

over 600 baby large mouth any where from 2 in to 5 in  I think the preserve gets over looked being a marsh but I also talked to the person that keeps an eye on the osprey tower and he has seen northern pike in there over 36 in, and large mouth over two pounds in the last few years the carp and bull head numbers have relay went down and the game fish population came up. and all of the little bass had huge belles full of  1 cm baby BG so there are big unstuted fish in there
