Drift Sock

Featured Replies

Yes I use drift socks alot on lake erie. Whe drifting with tubes if the drift is to fast to maintain bottom contact Ill put one out to slow down usually tying it close to the center of the boat. Turn your motor all the way into the wind and it will keep your boat perpendicular to the wind during the drift and keep you from spinning

I really like mine. I haven't used it much fishing for bass. But it is great when I drift fish for other species. I did start to try it the other day fishing around boat houses in heavy wind. Calmed down before I got it dug out. I ran a (main line) or rope down the side of the boat deck and hook the sock or a rope on it. I can slide it to any position I want. I also attached some weights on the bottom of the sock mouth and put some floats on the top. I opens almost immediately. Also I use a lead line on mine sometimes, it is about 25 ft. that I can hook onto the sock and the main line. This gives me plenty of room to fish around the sock without getting caught up in it. I put two ski rope floats one on each end of the lead line just in case I would need/ or accidently unhook it, I can come back and find it.

I got two that I use if I need to slow my boat down because of wind they are nice to have.
