digdug Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Anyone had any experience with the Mercury Verado motors? I had a Mercury factory trained repairman tell me that they still had some "bugs" in them, but he did not give any details either, and did say the Verado would be a good motor after the bugs were worked out. Laser1550 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Couldnt keep the ole mouth shut on this one. The Verado really has no place in MHO in the bass boat market. There heavy pigs 635 if I remember correctly. Yes they are quite and and green motors but too much weight for the average BASS boat and too much equipment to go bad and leave you stranded trying to get into the weigh in. Think of this all the engines responses (throttle trim etc.. are through WIRES). Now dont get me wrong I run only merc but hope they have something else for us in the future. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted April 22, 2005 Super User Posted April 22, 2005 I talked with a Verado owner last weekend at the hotel,he had a 250 on his boat.....he says it is terrible on gas and when he bought it from the factory, his linkage was hooked up wrong and during his first ride with it,he was stuck in reverse, going in circles. Needless to say,he was not too happy about it.But he said that after all that was corrected, the only thing he could complain about was gas mileage.....but what does he expect? it's a 250....do any 250's get great gas mileage?
