I need an educated answer to What kind of motor to get for a sixteen foot v bottom bass boat? I am looking for powerful and reliable at an affordable price. I am a big fan of Mercury, but not sure as to what size/brand to look into.

    I just bought a 50hp Evinrude E-tec..I don't have to do anything to the motor for the next 3 years. No Winterizing (fogging) No Oil Changes..No Grease..

    I replaced my 50hp Merc (2 stroke). Big diffrence..

    Alot quiter..Not as much smoke.. Plus it's better for the enviroment.

    Took it out last weekend in my 16ft Lowe (v hull)

    I was impressed..
