bassinandrew88
do they make bass seats that you can mount me and my friend are trying to convert a jon boat into a semi-bass boat, we have a 25 hp motor and a trolling motor but we were wondering if they had bass seats with stands to mount onto the seats of the jon boat
Muddpuppy
Wal Mart carries a couple of different sized posts that can be mounted to a swivel and then to the seat. I guess the posts could be attached to any standard seat clamp sturdy enough to support the load. The posts are like 6" or 8" and 12" and made from 3" pipe. I think I paid around $8.00 or so for the 12" post and about $3.75 for the seat swivels. BPS has about the same thing in their catalog, they just are higher priced. I think You can get seats starting around $16.00 up. and the removeable seat mounts I think start around 12.00. But these prices are comeing from memory so might not be accurate and you may be able to find things that work better for less.
Guest hydrillagorilla
I'm with mudpuppy. Check out B.P.S. and Cabalas marine catalogs, they have all the goods to pull this off. I used the smallest permanent posts about a 8" rise and mounted that to my jon boat seat and my swivel seat. The result is better leg room, better field of view and a more comfortable day. I first tried the seats directly on the jon boat bench seat but my knees were above my waist...not comfortable. Good luck!
Rattlinrogue
As 'puppy said, just go to walmart and they'll have whatever you need.I've done the same thing you're doing with your boat several times. It can be done.
